Grow and Develop as a Dancer in our Performing Arts Classes: Age 5-18

We are an award-winning studio with a commitment to age-appropriate dance education. Our performing arts dance classes are designed for students age 5-18 with an emphasis on learning the foundation of dance skills while also having fun! We welcome absolute beginners as well as those with previous dance experience. All of our classes are co-educational. Our faculty are lively, experienced teachers who have extensive training and a commitment to creating a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. Dancers may take one or as many classes as they desire each week and all students are invited to participate in our annual recital, held in June. This optional performance is a wonderful experience for dancers and highly recommended fun way to celebrate the learning from a season of dance!

AcroDance

AcroDance is the fusion of classical dance technique and the athleticism of acrobatic elements. Acro technique includes learning the proper progressions of balancing, flexibility, limbering, and tumbling along with strength. Ex. Handstands, cartwheels, and walkovers.

Ballet 1-2

The syllabus is based on a progression of exercises from the barre to the center, preparing the body and mind for technique that develops good placement, proper breathing, coordination, strength, grace, and musicality. Traditional ballet training is the basis for all great dancing!

Jazz 1-2, 2-3

If you love popular and classic music, stylized and energetic movement, then jazz dance is for you. All styles of classical, ethnic, and contemporary jazz music are used to express the variety of jazz dance styles enjoyed by both dancers and audiences today. Jazz is a technical class that develops skill, performance and musicality.

Musical Theatre Jazz

This class is a great place to learn, grow, and develop self-confidence in musical theatre skills. Singing, dancing, acting are the cornerstones of all great musical productions. This class will expand upon skills in every area with a focus on theatrical dancing.

Hip Hop 1-2, 2-3

Hip Hop music and dancing permeate our culture and have a unique and unmistakable style. Don’t miss out on the challenge and fun while learning cutting edge choreography with all the latest moves. Hip Hop develops coordination and performance style while keeping dancers engaged and challenged.

Lyrical-Contemporary

Lyrical is a dance style that blends jazz, contemporary, modern and ballet techniques. A lyrical dancer uses movement to express strong emotions such as love, joy, and anger, most commonly interpreting the lyrics of a song. Class includes a strong ballet foundation with elements of all other styles for a broad range of expression and musicality. Contemporary dance is a fusion of interpretive movement incorporating ballet, jazz, lyrical, and modern technique. There are no limits for choreography and expression in a contemporary class. Enjoy developing technique and exploring what is possible for dancers in this popular style.

Tap 1-2 

Tap dancing is one of the most entertaining, lighthearted and classic of all the dance styles. Tap dance is a musical art form and a fun-filled way to develop rhythm, coordination and balance. From the classic style of Broadway to contemporary rhythms, tap is a challenge, a workout, and even more fun.

Tap & Ballet 

Tap & Ballet: This 45-minute class containing ballet, tap and creative movement. Students will use the ballet barre to learn traditional ballet technique. Tap will combine the study of rhythm, precision and fluidity of movement. creative movement will include simple isolations, turns, jumps and leaps.

Tap & Jazz

Tap & Jazz: This combo class is fun and educational for the dancer who enjoys energetic expressive dancing, popular music, and the rhythms of tap. Let the jazzy popular rhythms from television and film keep your toes tapping and your fingers snapping!

Please note: We accept enrollment for new and returning students into classes where space is available from September through January. Then we close registration to order costumes and focus on choreography for our recital in June.
