Jazz & Percussion Class

We are excited to offer a NEW unique Jazz dance & percussion class inspired by DrumatiX company.  This 1 hour class incorporates dance movement, tap dancing, body percussion, rhythmic games, bucket drumming, and use of everyday objects to create a “junkyard items orchestra”. The class will start on January 4, 2024 and run for 22 weeks.  The last class on June 13, 2024 the students will have an in studio performance for family and friends.  No previous experience necessary.

DrumatiX is a creative percussion company, created and led by dancer, musician, and award-winning choreographer Noa Barankin. DrumatiX is based in Boston, MA and San Diego, CA, providing interactive performances and workshops for corporate and private events, educational programs, theaters, festivals, and the community. We are excited to collaborate with Noa to bring DrumatiX programming to KBDS.

The instructor for this class is Kelly Carpentier. She is a performer and workshop leader for DrumatiXKelly has many years of experience in Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop, as a teacher, choreographer, and performer for many dance institutions in and around New England and New York City. Kelly is excited to share all that she has learned from Noa and through performing and working with DrumatiX, and is looking forward to getting to meet and work with you all.

Ballet & Lyrical Class

We are excited to offer a Ballet & Lyrical combination class.  This 1 hour class will start with Ballet exercises at the barre to the center, preparing the body and mind for technique that develops good placement, proper breathing, coordination, strength, grace, and musicality. Then on to Lyrical movement to express strong emotions such as love, joy, and anger, most commonly interpreting the lyrics of a song. 

The class will start on February 1, 2024 and run for 18 weeks.  The last class on June 13, 2024 the students will have an in studio performance for family and friends.  No previous experience necessary.

Dress Code Requirements:

  • ATHLETIC WEAR (leggings, capris, joggers etc…)
  • A clean pair of sneakers for the Jazz & Percussion class, barefoot for the Ballet & Lyrical class.
  • HAIR: Long hair must be tied back.
  • NO JEWELRY, COSTUMES or PLAY CLOTHES: Remember loose or dangling jewelry and costumes other than proper dance skirts are a safety hazard, a distraction for dancers and are not allowed. Jeans, jean shorts, are not suitable dance attire.

Homeschool Program Tuition Structure

  • Monthly tuition rates are based on the average of 3.5 classes per month. Some months have as few as (2) two weeks others as many as (5) five.
  • You are not paying for scheduled school vacations and holidays. Our calendar is based on the state of NH school system, others may vary.
  • Payments are due on the (1st) first of each month, auto billing available. Payments may be made online, at the office, or by mail. We gladly accept the following methods of payment: Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and ClassWallet
  • There is NO registrations fee for the Homeschool program.
