Becca McCarthy

Studio Owner/Artistic Director
AcroDance, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical & Jazz

Becca is the Owner and Artistic Director of KBDS with nearly two decades of teaching experience inspiring dancers of all ages. She is committed to creating a welcoming, supportive community where every student feels valued while striving for excellence in both dance and character. Becca teaches Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Acro, and Children’s Tap and also serves as the studio’s Competition Director. Through her leadership and mentorship, she guides dancers to develop strong technical foundations, artistry, confidence, accountability, kindness, and a lifelong love of dance.

A Southern New Hampshire native, Becca discovered her passion for dance as a toddler and has been pursuing it ever since. She continued her dance education through college while earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and remains dedicated to lifelong learning as both an educator and choreographer.

Committed to providing the highest quality training, Becca continually expands her education to stay current with the ever-evolving dance industry. She has attended the Dance Teacher Summit in New York City, where she trained with some of the industry’s leading educators and choreographers. She is certified in Acrobatic Arts (Modules 1 & 2, Aerial, and Back Handspring), Alexia Flexibility (Modules 1 & 2), Progressing Ballet Technique, Youth Protection Advocates in Dance, and is Barre certified with a focus in Pilates and Yoga. She enjoys incorporating these training methods, along with fresh and innovative teaching techniques, into every class she teaches.

As Artistic Director, Becca believes exceptional dance education extends far beyond technique. Her philosophy centers on building a strong, encouraging community where dancers are challenged to achieve their personal best while learning the values of perseverance, respect, teamwork, and resilience. She is passionate about developing technically strong, versatile artists in an environment that nurtures confidence, kindness, accountability, and joy.

Becca’s choreography has been recognized with Choreography Excellence Awards, and under her leadership, KBDS has earned Studio of Excellence recognition at regional competitions year after year. Whether leading the studio, preparing dancers for the competition stage, or mentoring students in the classroom, her greatest reward is watching each dancer grow; not only as an artist, but as a confident, compassionate individual.
