And it’s true, you may have to sacrifice a lot. It’s hard to give up those things in exchange for tired muscles and late nights. But imagine your life if you didn’t have dance, imagine not experiencing that thrill you get when you walk onto a stage or into a studio.”

KBDS Roots:
Tyler began dancing at KBDS when she was eight years old. Her first love was ballet, but after some time she began to branch out into other genres. Tyler was a long-time member of the Kathy Blake Dance Companies, dancing styles like ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap and musical theatre. Twice, Tyler traveled with KBDS to the Dance Excellence festival in LA. One of her best memories is performing in Disneyland with the KB Dance Company. Tyler has had many unforgettable experiences with Kathy Blake’s, including her training and work with former teacher Amy Piantaggini. The teachers and mentors who helped Tyler over the years have truly made in impact on her, and she will never forget her time at KBDS.
Beyond the Studio:
After graduating, Tyler chose to continue her dance training at Hofstra University as a double major in Dance and Communications. Tyler attended summer programs like the Bates Dance Festival in Lewiston, Maine and The Joffrey School Summer Intensive in New York City. Tyler recently interned with the Boston Ballet, which provided a huge boost to her ballet repertoire. Tyler also recommends checking out The Doug Varone Summer Intensive, the David Dorfman Intensive, Mark Morris Group Intensive and Larry Keigwin for summer classes in NYC. Currently as a college graduate, Tyler works as an entertainment case member at Walt Disney World in Florida. She works with characters, as well as performing in parades and shows throughout the park.
