2014 Graduate of Souhegan High School, Amherst

Class of 2018, University of New Hampshire: Double Major in Dance and Marketing, Minor in Economics

KBDS Roots:

Jenn began dancing at the age of three. She moved to New Hampshire in 2000 and took her first KBDS class at five years old. Since then, Jenn has expanded her love of dance over 15 years of training at KBDS. Jenn trained in the styles of ballet, pointe, contemporary ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, theatre dance and more. Jenn was an assistant teacher and loved substitute teaching. She was a member of the Kathy Blake Dance Companies for seven years, traveled to Dance Excellence in 2011, and competed in KBDS’s first ever competition season.  Jenn was eventually hired to teach her own classes.

Beyond the Studio:

In 2010, Jenn became involved with the Boys & Girls Club, participating in their theater program. Throughout her high school years, she helped to grow the interest in dance among the community, performing in and choreographing shows. Her senior year, Jenn established and coached the first official Dance Team at the Club, in addition to choreographing & directing her own show. Jenn was a member of the Souhegan High School Varsity Dance Team her freshman year of high school. In the summer of 2012, Jenn attended the Professional Division Intensive at The Ailey School in NYC, and in 2013 she attended the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Summer Intensive. Jenn has also taken classes at Southern New Hampshire Dance Theater and Broadway Dance Center. In 2013, Jenn became a principal member of FreeFall Contemporary Dance Company under the direction of Heather Budinscak. After graduating, Jenn took a break from serious training and attended the University of Connecticut to study Business, although she did remain somewhat involved in dance as a choreographer for the UConn Dance Company and a member of the UConn All-Stars Step & Hip Hop Team. For the coming year, Jenn had decided to continue her dance training as a second major at the University of New Hampshire. She currently works as an intern for Suzanne Gerety at DanceStudioOwner.com and Revolution Dancewear, as well as working for Kathy Blake Dance Studios.
