2012 Graduate of Souhegan High School, Amherst

3 Years with the Young Americans

KBDS Roots:

Isaiah began his dance training at KBDS at the age of nine. Taking classes with us ever since, Isaiah became a member of the Kathy Blake Dance Companies for many years, traveling to Dance Excellence in 2008 and 2011. Isaiah began to emerge as a student choreographer, and took an interest in the creation of movement. Trips to the Dance Excellence Festival inspired him to audition for the Young Americans community arts outreach group.

Beyond the Studio:

In 2010 and 2012, Isaiah directed and choreographed two original all-dance productions at the Boys & Girls Club. Isaiah’s choreography has been selected to be performed at the National BGCA Conference three times. He was also invited back for two years as a choreography and production intern to work with the production team. After his high school graduation, Isaiah spent a year in Southern California training with the Young Americans in dance, voice, and performance techniques. He later toured with the group in Japan, the greater parts of Europe, the Midwest and on the East Coast. For Summer 2015, Isaiah will be spending his time in New York City, studying with the Broadway Dance Center Training Program. This is home to some of the most notable choreographers in the industry, where he will be focusing on Musical Theatre and Contemporary. Isaiah hopes to one day be able to choreograph professionally and share his love of dance across the globe.
